Set free, Set free
To live a life of liberty
Why can’t I see this as I look out on humanity?
Set free to live
As was His command
Yet live solely by the rules of man
One more chance you are told
Oh, and hurry up before you are too old
Don’t do this and don’t do that
Leave it to us…
Now you don’t even have to pray
Or, if you must do so silently
How can this be?
Did by these standards Christ hang on the cross?
For You, For Me, for the whole human race
What was it all for?
Mans rules, his religion
Trying to put us in a box
Of their particular choosing
Where there are only rules
And certainly no room for His grace
Have they forgotten the nails in His hands and feet
Broken and bloodied
Yet made whole again
Christ rose for you and I
He has already made the way…
A way of love, grace and power
Just look around and see how much they are needed in this late hour
Let’s lay aside our selfish ways
The silly rules
They only keep us weak and wanting
Depending on men
In lieu of our Father
For you are not weak as some have been told
Or a mess that can’t be fixed
Or too old to learn new things
God knows who you are
And He will never quit on you!
Do you know God waits to hear from you?
And heaven is open 24/7
He’s interested in everything you have to say
And He will make a way…
His love will see you through anything you face!
So rise up and live out your days…
Show people who God is when they are around you
And when in doubt
Remember to keep looking up
The best help comes from above!
