Has someone, possibly a co-worker, family member, a friend or someone in authority told you that you have only “one” more chance to fail? Perhaps, you may have even heard it preached in church; sadly, I have. How can I put this nicely, that’s total rubbish. Anyone who says otherwise has never reached farther than they thought they could ever go. It’s easy not to fail when you just stand still. It’s when we stretch ourselves that we may miss the mark. So what! Many who have gone on to achieve greatness have missed many.
The only way to “find out if it will work out” is to do it.
Simon Sinek
Our stories occur in work environments, local churches or in family dynamics.
Remember; if you fail at least you have tried. Some people never try anything new because they are afraid of failure and what people will say. Perhaps that’s because they talk about others in this fashion. Don’t allow anyone to label you as a failure. As long as you keep getting back up there is opportunity to set the record straight.
We hold ourselves back when we are afraid of what “they” might think.

Will they walk away? Perhaps, maybe they only had one foot in the game. Will they gossip about you, sadly they probably already do. Will they put you down, insecure people may.
It seems to be that it’s only when we are comfortable and confident in who we are that we are able to show mercy to others. True leaders believe they gain something when they help others. True leaders lift people back up by extending a hand or words of encouragement.
Personally I have had my fill of insecure people in authority. Having said that I have been fortunate to work for true leaders who challenged me to be stronger and wiser. They taught me it was normal to make mistakes. They shared their own stories, which gave me the strength to get up and go again.
Remember that the lesson of Oz is to have faith in yourself. Whatever it is you so dearly want, whether it’s courage, a brain or a heart, or simply to be at home — all the things the alluring Wizard is promising — have been within your power to achieve all along. And while a bully may have almost conned you into believing you couldn’t go home, a leader will never let you forget that you can.

It doesn’t matter how old or young you are we are all still finding our way in this world. It is only by trying that we find out what works and what doesn’t.
Let me encourage you to keep trying in every area of your life!
Q. What keeps you going?
Diane this is a great article. 100% of people who never try ultimately fail. You never know what you’re capable of until you just try something. My kids keep me going. I want to be a great role model and to me that means showing my children to just try, believe in yourself and find your true passion in life. If they do that I am sure they will be successful and happy.
