Final moments in the lives of our loved ones are never easy. Today you might be going through what I did a number of years ago. In my case it was my Mother. Growing up it had been only her and I. This was a very difficult time for our family, that’s for sure. Never forget that the moments we invest in our loved ones are extremely precious not only for them but for us as well.
I was busy with my career, raising my daughters, running errands , cooking, cleaning, all the things we Mothers do! My husband was a great help, I couldn’t have gotten through this without his support. I remember being exhausted but I realized the time was short so I did all that I knew to do in this situation. I was going to make the best of it.
To that end, we said what we needed to say, we held hands, we hugged, we laughed, we sang and many times I would lay down beside her. I considered this a privilege.
My Mom’s final words were, “See you on the other side,” I believe this to be true…
There are no wasted moments…
“I guess they’re called moments because they don’t last very long.”
